Visit Cartago City and Irazu Volcano

Chills and thrills. Your journey begins from San Jose to the old capital city of Cartago. You will pass through one of the richest coffee producing areas of the country. From Cartago we continue to climb for 20 miles up the magnificent lush slopes of the volcano. The deep richness of the volcano soil is evident as you capture the brilliant green hues of the farmland reminiscent of Switzerland itself. The spectacular view, which awaits you from the 11,300 ft. summit, will never be forgotten. On a clear day it is possible to view both the Atlantic and the Pacific Oceans. A stop will also be made at Cartago to visit the famous Los Angeles Basilica where the patron saint of the country is enshrined.
